Knitted fabric can be created as bespoke shaped panels, flat fabric and in 3D form. This freedom to create and make in 3D is a basic property of knitting, however interest in the freeform production potential of knitting has been transformed as other technologies such as 3D printing catch up with the idea of making in 3D. This exhibition includes work produced using freehand loop production processes, hand knitting, machine knitting and CNC computerised knit technologies. Whilst the technology varies, the construction process is always knitting.
